KEPPEL ARCHIBALD CAMERON CRESWELL

1879—1974

Born in London in 1879, Professor Creswell was first given an opportunity to develop his interest in the architecture of the Middle East during a military posting to Egypt in 1916. For most of the remainder of his life he lived and worked in Cairo.

Creswell's publications were, for the most part, illustrated with his own photographs. On his death his collection of negatives was bequeathed to the Ashmolean Museum.
